- Compliant with California’s strict chemical regulations
- Non-flammable, making them safe and easy to ship worldwide
- Extended working time for more precision and flexibility
- Excellent absorption for deep, even color and less waste
In short, they’re the same great Leather Dyes you know and trust — just safer to ship, a little slower to dry (thanks to the absence of alcohol), and ready to help you tackle your next project with ease. You won’t be disappointed!
-----------------
Dyeing Smooth Leather with Angelus Leather Dye
- Prep the Leather: Wipe down your leather with a leather preparer using applicators, cotton balls, or a clean rag.
- Dry & Remove Lint: Let the leather dry for a few minutes, then wipe it with a microfiber towel to remove any lint.
-
Apply the Dye: Using the Wool Dauber supplied with your dye, soak it with the dye.
- For larger areas, use a fully soaked dauber.
- For smaller sections, use less dye or a paintbrush for more precision.
- Soak the Leather: Make sure the leather absorbs the dye - it works by soaking in, not sitting on top like paint. Apply evenly, rubbing to ensure full coverage.
- Let Dry: Allow the leather to dry. You may notice a tint, bronzing, or slightly different finish on the surface - don’t worry, this is normal.
- Optional: Remove Excess Pigment: Wipe with a microfiber towel to remove any surface dye. If there’s still a sheen or tint, lightly wipe with a bit of alcohol on the microfiber. Important: Do not let the alcohol sit on the leather, or it may lift the dye and cause discoloration. Once done, the surface tint should disappear, leaving just the color.
-
Repeat if Needed: If you want a deeper color, repeat steps 4–6 until you reach your desired shade.
